It’s the weekend already! Whoah!
So I know a lot of you may be so confused as to what to do or which places to visit this weekend with your friends, family or that special someone.
I know we many times say we have limited leisure spots in Accra. Many times I hear people say the only place they have to go out on dates with friends, family and that special someone is the cinema or restaurants. Well, I totally disagree with that statement because, for the past 3 or 4 years now, there have been some great improvements on leisure spots in and around Accra. I would like to suggest some of them to you.
Legon Botanical Gardens
This is one place which has a great ambience. One thing that has been added to it that brought me so much excitement is the pole climbing. I love adventure and something as such is a great way to have fun and create lasting memories with friends and that special someone. Interestingly, the pole climbing isn’t just the only thing there. They also do have the canopy walk though it isn’t as high as the one in Cape Coast.
For a trip outside Accra, there are varied options for cool places to go to.
If there is one place I love to visit the most and just be in a surreal moment I will say the BEACH! I even had to capitalise and add an exclamation to express my excitement for this breathtaking place just to show how much I honestly appreciate its picturesque and natural views. Listening to the sound of the waves and just having to feel the warmth of the sand under your feet is just amazing. Ok enough of me gaping about this. My favourite go-to beaches are:
This is because it’s on the outskirts of the city and is less crowded making it very relaxing and easy to hear each other’s conversations clearly without having to shout across due to loud music, as happens at some beaches, which can almost be described as causing a nuisance.
Sandbox Beach – This is also a great hangout location with friends over the weekend especially since during more favourable weather conditions. I love it here, especially because it’s more of an adult’s place where a bit of networking with business minded people is somewhat bound to happen.
Now I recently also just found the new Go-Kart racing location at Tema which is an excellent date idea. One can spend meaningful and remarkable moments racing and just savour the moment by letting down your guard and worries.
One of my other favourite date ideas I can suggest is visiting historical or tourist places and get to learn more about the history surrounding your main existence since Ghana gained its freedom. It doesn’t always have to be all about fun, sometimes it has to be educational too.
Visiting landmarks that has so much history attached to them, is a way of learning and imparting knowledge into your life so as to help appreciate a lot of things we tend to take for granted.
