Meet Oriel Barbara Naadjah Sackey, popularly known as Akosua Kaakyire a final year student at Kwame University of Science and Technology KNUST. Akosua KaaKyire is the founder Akosua Kaakyire Creations. A start up doing blazing the trail with the creative craft industry.
Akosua deals with handmade beads, bracelets and a whole collection of creative crafts, crafted from assorted beads, Akosua Kaakyire Creations has been producing some beautiful handiworks and we so we decided to delve into the life of this talented woman.
What inspired you to start your business?
My late mum inspired me to start my business.
How long have you been in business? What risk have you faced so far?
I’ve been in business since 2011 but came public and very active in 2013. Of course it involves a lot of risks. It’s not always easy but I’m a risk taker.

What other business are you into
Oriel’s – Miracle Detox Drink which is sold mainly to workers. I sell a bit of clothing on the side.
Can you be in business without money?
Yes. It happens. I can be in business without money.
Advice For Entrepreneurs.
My advice to entrepreneurs, it’s not always easy but it’s not a reason to give up. Go for what you want.
The entrepreneurship rate in Ghana is very impressive. I think everyone has seen the need to start up something. This can gradually reduce the unemployment rate.
Training young people on acquisition of skills in accessory designing is what I set my company to contribute to the development of the nation. Knowledge gained is Knowledge shared. This in turn will create more jobs .To me; social media helps in making products known and selling products faster – in your comfort zone
