My name is Thomas Tagoe, I am a scientist at heart and by training. I hold a PhD in Neuroscience and I like to think of it as nothing more than a problem solving degree, so that is what I do; solve problems that intrigue me. For now, my eyes are set on solving the problem of poor science education and communication within Ghana by engaging people with practical science activities and flooding everyone with fascinating science whenever I can. I have the pleasure of doing this with a small team of people at GhScientific which I co-founded to carry out this mandate. I am a Christian, basketball player, poetry dappler, avid reader, music lover and most importantly, a Leicester City Fan.
Why you should listen
Have you ever wondered how a country can get it all wrong? Or why some move country to find excellence? You have to ask; Is it the excellent that relocate or does relocation make one excellent? Regardless what your intuition and experience may tell you, this is science and everybody loves facts. So my team and I set out to run a little experiment; exposing junior high school students to opportunities that others move country to find. Our findings led us back to the drawing board and may just cause you to rethink your priorities in life after listening.
Quote from Thomas
“Good things happen when the science community engages with the general public”
