What inspired you start your business?

My mother and my passion for the arts and anything in the field of art.

How long have you been in business?

As far back as I can remember, but the current brand (Paper-Mirror Concepts) was started in 2012, birthed from my initial brand (Dribz & Drabz – which started in 2007).

Business involves risks. Are you a risk-taker?

Yes, I consider myself a risk-taker. My biggest risk has to be the fact that I’ve never been an art student and I’m boycotting my current course of study (BSc. Mathematics) and putting all my heart in this Paper-Mirror brand without thinking of its consequences. I have to compete with people with degrees and all sorts of certificates in art.

Who is your inspiration?

My mother is my inspiration. She has sacrificed so much for me. I need to make it up to her. Passion is the other inspiration.

What has been your greatest achievement?

Paper-Mirror

CNN using my pen artwork as the official art tribute for Nelson Mandela on their official iReport website.

Where do you see your business in the next five years?

I see the Paper-Mirror brand growing beyond my wildest imaginations as a household brand in Advertising, Media, Web, Branding, Photography and all sorts of sectors of the arts.

Who is your role model?

My mother. Her hardworking spirit always keeps me going.

What drives you on?

God, family, and some really good friends.

What has been your greatest challenge?

Capital. Mainly getting access to some things I need to get the brand even bigger.

Your views on entrepreneurship in Ghana?

It is growing at a fast rate but [there is] no help for start-ups.

Is it just your talents that have gotten you this far?

Yes, that and God, family and some really good friends.

What other business are you into?

I am also into Artiste Management, Event Organization and Portrait Drawing.

Thank you for your time, Richard.
