Ghana Premier League -Halfway To The Promised Land

The Ghanaian Premier League took a break last weekend after Game week 15. With the League in the midway stages, WAFA ends the first round with a 2 points gap at the summit (32 points), Aduana 2nd and Hearts 3rd on 26 points.

Hearts of Oak continued their winning streak as they inflicted a 3-0 defeat on Liberty Professionals in week 15 of the Ghana Premier at the Karl Reinhorf Park.

The most successful team in the history of the Premier League, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, played a scoreless draw with new boys Tema Youth at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi. The Kumasi-based team is without a win in their previous 8 games. The Porcupine Warriors sit seventh on the table after Gameweek 15.

Defending champions Wa All Stars, have not had a good season so far as they finished 9th on the table after the halfway stage of the league. The Northern Blues slumped to a 1-0 defeat at Ashanti Gold. Mumuni Shafiu was the hero at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.

Will we witness a minnow annex the Ghana Premier League as the second round of league matches has commenced?

Or will the old dogs reclaim their place in the history of Ghanaian Football?

Time will tell.
