I’m Lesibane Mohale. For many this is a tongue twister, so you can just call me Les. Lesibane is a Northern Sotho name that means ‘a light’ and Mohale means ‘Hero’. I was born in a township called Soweto in South Africa. I’m a father of a four-year old girl, a husband to a remarkable wife and an award winning Creative Director at an advertising agency. Writing is my passion, I have dreams of being a Master Chef, and one day, I’ll finally get to produce my long awaited music album.
I have 12 years’ experience in the Advertising Industry spread across South Africa and Ghana. I’ve produced campaigns for blue chip brands that include Coca-Cola, KFC, UNICEF, Airtel, Barclays, Multichoice to name a few. If you had to sum me up in a sentence it would be this:
I love what I do and I do what I love.
being a Master Chef is my after 5 and I believe creativity is all we need to make the world a better place.
Why should we listen to your talk?
Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King, Oprah Winfrey, Kwame Nkrumah. These legends, like many other people, all had a dream. I’m a young man from the dusty streets of Soweto in South Africa who also has a dream. Solving Africa’s problems through creativity is my dream. Xenophobia, poor sanitation, gender inequality, child abuse, poverty and illiteracy are just some of the social ills I dream of tackling with one big idea at a time. But with dreams, comes action and my vision is to share the ideas with an audience that’s willing to listen. I’m not just daring to dream. I’m playing my part by acting.
