The Accra International Marathon (AIM) is turning 8 and we hope you have your calendars marked! On Sunday, 28th September join people from all over as they run, walk, and jog to keep Africa alive. AIM is an annual marathon event held in Accra. The popularity of the Marathon has grown over the past eight years and attracts participants from across Ghana, Kenya, Netherlands and Nigeria.
The core goal of the AIM is to encourage and support Ghanaians to lead an active and healthy lifestyle. The event is designed to be accessible and enjoyable for all skill levels where participants can run, jog, walk or even do a jig. The Marathon ends with participants relaxing, eating and drinking on the beautiful lawns and beachfront of the 5-star Labadi Beach Hotel.
The vision of AIM is to attract national and international participants to a world-class marathon running and walking event in the nation’s capital and to be a fundraising vehicle in support of The Longevity Project.
The mission of the Project is to increase the life expectancy and quality of life of Ghanaians. This is an effort to address the prevailing life expectancy rate in Ghana, which is currently under 65 years.
