Barcamp Voices 2015 is a free networking forum bringing people together for a day of discussion, demos and dialogue about Public Policy and Policy Participatory Governance in Ghana and beyond.
It will take place on February 28, 2015 at The International House, opposite The Faculty of Law, University of Ghana, Legon – Accra.
The theme for this event is Public Policy and Citizen Participation in Governance. This event will be the 1st BarCamp Voices in Accra, as it builds a network of young change makers, doers and entrepreneurs in Ghana.
The GhanaThink Foundation has successfully organized 42 BarCamps in Ghana. Barcamp Voices 2015 will focus on how Ghanaian citizens can engage in policy implementations and how well they can cooperate with the government in implementing these policies to help build the country.
There will be a panel discussing this theme with thought and expert leaders from the media, civil society organization, and government and youth spaces. There will also be a focus on channeling the present energies around social media into positive developments and progress for Ghana and Africa as well. Projects on civil participation in governance will be presented by various organisations. It will be an insightful, informative and inspirational event that young people in Ghana should not miss.
The Barcamp will feature multiple user-generated breakout sessions about governance, business, social entrepreneurship, technology, civil society and development. There will be a speed mentoring session where mentors will give insights and answers to questions from attendees. Confirmed mentors include Linda Kamau from Ushahidi, Golda Addo from The Daily Constitution,Etse Sikanku, lecturer of communications,University of Ghana.
