Hardware Open House 2015



NI and the iSpace Foundation host “Hardware Open House” showcasing technology for Accra Negawatt participants

Accra, Ghana, March 3, 2015US-based multinational corporation NI and the iSpace Foundation will jointly hold a community meetup for technologists and entrepreneurs interested in integrated hardware and software solutions upon which they can build their own inventions, including in the field of energy efficiency. NI’s technology is used for advanced data acquisition, measurements, control and monitoring by top corporations (NASA, Tata Motors, Schlumberger, Samsung,, Duke Energy) and small and medium enterprises (SMEs), alike.


This meetup is organized under the auspices of the World Bank’s Accra Negawatt Challenge Competition, which is part of the international competition – the Negawatt Challenge – empowering communities around the world to innovate around urban energy issues. In addition to Ghana, the Negawatt Challenge is also unfolding in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Nairobi, Kenya; and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

What:   Hardware Open House is the second meetup organized by the iSpace Foundation under the auspices of the Accra Negawatt Challenge.

Negawatt Challenge is an international competition empowering communities to innovate around local energy issues. Using a multi-phase open innovation methodology, this initiative aims to transform cities into more sustainable and energy efficient places. Cities all over the world have been selected on the basis of their governments’ commitment to energy efficiency and low carbon growth, as well as the existence of dynamic and growing entrepreneurial and technology sectors.
