What Ideas Are Worth Sharing – Attend TedxAccra 2015 To Find Out!

On the 11th of April more than 200 Ghanaians in and out of Ghana will gather at the National Theatre for TedxAccra, an event that seeks to Inform, Empower and Educate. Formerly TedxLabone – a community gathering of change makers but now a national convocation of doers, movers and shakers. It is an annual mammoth event where people from all walks of life meet to develop and leverage the tech experience. The theme for the 2015 TedxAccra event at the National Theater is to explore the next chapter, not that of the organizer’s but for the attendees and speakers.

The focus will be to look at the next chapter in health, education, sports, business, technology, agricultural, photography, social enterprise, entertainment and every single sector that matters in the development of Ghana. TedxAccra has been designed for those who seek new ideas worth sharing.

Since TedxAccra is an independently organized Ted event where ideas are shared via Ted talks. The TedxAccra team went through a rigorous process to enlist speakers who know their art and are ready to share their next chapter with attendees and the rest of the world. After receiving 10,000 nominations for speakers, the team settled on 30 speakers for TedxAccra 2015. Speakers include Fiifi Baido, Sena Dede, Ethel Cofie, Elizabeth Patterson, Eyram Tawiah, Peace Hyde, our very own Rita Kusi and several others. The speaker list is a mixture of both Ghanaians living and doing business in the country and those in the Diaspora. 35 people consisting of 15 core team members and 20 volunteers from different fields will be available on the day of the event to ensure things go as planned.

The team will get in touch with the originator of the idea and help him or her to improve on their idea. The purpose of this is to have community cells of people who will be responsible for solving problems around them.

When asked what will happen to TedxLabone now that TedxAccra is in full force, Emmanuel Leslie Addae curator of TedxAccra stated, “TedxLabone is still there and we are ready to release the license to anyone interested in the TedxLabone Chapter.”
