The Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (AITI-KACE) presents Innovation Month, also known as, “i-month”. The four-week initiative will consist of intensive demos, speed mentoring, dialogues, hackathons, training secessions, and several related activities around innovation in the technology sphere. Information Communication Technology (ICT) has been a major catalyst for development in Ghana and beyond. And so innovation month is a proper platform to take stock and exhibit innovation in ICT. Innovation Month 2014 is an extended version of innovation week, which took place in 2013.
The theme for this year is “Innovation for Jobs, Productivity, and Growth” and commences on 28th October to 22nd November 2014 at the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Center of Excellence in ICT (AITI-KACE) in Accra.
Some special guest and speakers shortlisted for this year includes the Minister of Education, Dr.Omane Boamah, Madam Dorothy K. Gordon – Director of AITI-KACE , Mr. Paarock Asuman VanPercy – Director General of the National Communication Authority, Ato Ulzen-Appiah- Director at the GhanaThink Foundation and several others. Attendees will get the chance to interact with these resource persons. Training sessions will also be held at this year’s Innovation Month and will include: Open Source Enterprise Resource Planning, Internet of Things, Youth hackathon, and a Demo Workshop.
Innovation Month 2014 promises to be exciting, engaging, and very resourceful to all attendees. The platform will offer free mentorship, business advice, networking opportunities, collaborators, and Innovation hub and Hacker Space memberships just to mention a few.
